The Utility Expo 2025 is the must-attend event for linemen, utility professionals, and anyone working in electric generation, transmission, and distribution industry. This year’s Expo will be held October 7-9th in beautiful Louisville, Kentucky, and it’s the largest event of its kind in North America, offering the chance to get hands-on with the latest gear, connect with experts, and experience innovations that are reshaping utility work.
Here’s why the Utility Expo is a can’t-miss event and why your first stop should be the Tallman Equipment booth.
Why The Utility Expo 2025 Is Worth the Trip for Linemen
1. Tools You Can Touch, Test, and Trust
The Utility Expo is all about big equipment, live demos, and real-world functionality. You can climb into bucket trucks, try out hoists, inspect hot sticks, and see how new products perform under pressure. You work with your hands so get your hands on the newest innovations out there and feel the quality for yourself.
2. The Whole Industry in One Place
This is where linemen, fleet managers, engineers, contractors, and manufacturers come together. It’s a unique opportunity to network with your peers, talk shop, and trade ideas with people who get it.

While You’re in Louisville… Have Some Fun
You’re not going to spend all your time on the show floor (although you could). Louisville is a city that punches way above its weight when it comes to food, culture, and off-the-clock fun. Here are some can’t-miss stops:
1. Bourbon, Bourbon, Bourbon
You’re in the heart of Bourbon Country. What else would you do but check out the local distilleries? There are well over a dozen makers of the finest Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey in Louisville to check out, or if time permits, you can make a trip down the legendary Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Just some of the distilleries with tasting rooms in Louisville include:
- Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company – 120 N Tenth St – Closed Sunday
- Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery – 801 W Main St – Open Seven Days
- Barrels & Billets Custom Bourbon – 800 W Main St – Closed Tuesday-Wednesday
- Bardstown Bourbon Company Louisville Tasting Room – 730 W Main St – Closed Sunday
- Evan Williams Bourbon Experience – 528 W Main St – Open Seven Days
- Old Forester Distilling Co – 119 W Main St – Closed Sunday-Monday
- Angel’s Envy Distillery – 500 E Main St – Open Seven Days
- and many more!
No matter where you are in town, there’s probably a distillery within shouting distance.
2. Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
The giant bat is unmistakable. Even if baseball’s not your thing (what is wrong with you?), the iconic bat factory is a cool blend of history, craftsmanship, and American grit. Hold bats used by Hall of Fame players, watch bats being made, and test your skills in the batting cage with bats built to MLB player specs.
3. The Kentucky Derby Museum & Churchill Downs
Are horses, fancy hats, and mint juleps are more your style? Experience the legacy of the fastest two minutes in sports, even if it’s not Derby season.
4. Eat Like a Champ
The best part of any trip is often the foods you get to try and the company with whom you get to share that experience. Get a hot brown at the Brown Hotel, try fried chicken the way it was meant to be made, or hit up any of the other local restaurants for a taste of Kentucky hospitality. There’s no better team building activity than sitting around a table and breaking bread together.
5. Live Music & Local Vibes
From blues bars to bluegrass, Louisville knows how to jam. Check out the schedule at Headliners Music Hall or Mercury Ballroom.
See You in October!
The Utility Expo only happens every two years—and 2025 promises to be the biggest and best yet. Your friends at Tallman Equipment have been thinking about it since the last one in 2023, and we are excited to be there with the tools and service linemen trust. Come see what’s new, talk with our team, and enjoy the people and the best bourbon Kentucky has to offer.
Stop by the Tallman booth. Let’s talk tools. Let’s talk equipment. Let’s talk about the future of linework.
We’ll see you in Louisville.
