Ingredients:

• 2 oz Tallman 75th Reserve Indiana Straight Bourbon Whiskey
• 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
• 1/2 oz maple syrup
• 1 egg white
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• Optional: 2 drops black walnut bitters
• Ice

Method:

1. Add bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup, egg white, and bitters to a shaker without ice.
2. Dry shake hard for 15 seconds to build foam.
3. Add ice and shake again until chilled.
4. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
5. Add a few drops of bitters across the foam and drag a cocktail pick through for a subtle design.

Tallman Tip:

Fresh lemon matters.

The bottled stuff tastes about as lively as a training video from 1997.

Also: dry shake first. That’s what gives the sour its smooth, velvety texture instead of “angry lemonade.”
