INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE:

Location: Addison, Illinois

Company Overview

Since 1952 Tallman Equipment Company has been a trusted manufacturer and distributor of tools and equipment; supplying a multitude of utility markets. With an experienced, customer-focused sales and service team, we confidently serve the electrical utility, transmission, distribution, telecommunications, and industrial markets. Tallman Equipment is staffed with expert tool specialists who are available to advise our customers on nearly any product or tool need including: stringing, lifting/rigging, fiberglass, rubber goods/cover-up, and grounding. We are currently seeking a Tool Specialist to join our inside sales team. The Tool Specialist will be responsible for sales growth and business development through inbound and outbound calls from electrical utilities, contractors, and electrical cooperatives. This position will be located at Tallman Equipment’s Central Division in Addison, IL.

Detailed Description

  • Has a passion for sales in the electrical transmission & distribution markets
  • Differentiates Tallman Equipment products and services from competition utilizing product and non-product factors
  • Has a strong commitment to providing customer service within a team environment
  • Overcome the objections of prospective customers
  • Manage key accounts through prompt customer service
  • Pro-active with consistent follow ups on quotes and leads
  • Updates knowledge through researching products and participating in educational opportunities
  • Develops accounts by checking customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items, and explaining technical features

Education & Experience

  • No prior sales experience required
  • PC Skills using spreadsheets, word processing, and other office management applications preferred
  • Ability to work with customer relationship management (CRM) software

Receiving Department:

Location: Columbus, Indiana

Duties include but not limited to, unloading delivery trucks, i.e. UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Hot Shots, Flatbed and line haul trucks. This job requires physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, pull and bend. Handlers must be able to handle packages without dropping or causing damage. Checking incoming shipments against product purchase orders, organizing orders, and product put-aways in bin locations. Notifying management personnel when they don’t have enough of a particular product, too much of a particular product or get the wrong product all together. Be a problem solver and communicate with co-workers. Driving a forklift. No experience needed, there is on the job training.

Shipping Department:

Location: Columbus, Indiana

Duties include but are not limited to, picking, sorting, boxing, packaging and loading shipments onto delivery trucks. I.e. UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Hot Shots, Flatbed and line haul trucks. Must ensure all orders are being picked and filled with the correct items and quantities, correctly box up, tape and label and ensure all packages are handled carefully and going to the correct customer, location and with the correct items and quantities ordered. This job requires physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, pull and bend. Handlers must be able to handle packages without dropping or causing damage. Handler will be responsible for keeping accurate accountability of the items packaged and shipped. Be a problem solver and communicate with co-workers. Be able to work with material handling machines. No experience needed, there is on the job training.

Shop Helper:

Location: Columbus, Indiana

Duties include but are not limited to, Basic knowledge of hand tools, Inspection and testing of various utility tools and equipment. This job requires physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, pull and bend. Driving a forklift, operating a floor sweeper. Shop clean-up and equipment maintenance. No experience needed, however someone with basic mechanical abilities is desirable. There is on the job training.
