Job Opening: Receptionist/Billing Clerk
Location: Our Columbus Indiana Headquarters
Job Type: Full-Time; 100% in Office, Monday-Friday 8 AM – 5 PM
Tallman Equipment, a growing distribution company, is seeking a reliable and organized Receptionist / Billing Clerk to join our team. This role combines front-desk responsibilities with administrative and billing support to help ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
What You’ll Do:
Reception & Administrative Duties
- Greet and assist visitors, drivers, and customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Order Office Supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized front office area
- Filing
- Provide general administrative support to office staff and management
- Other duties as assigned
Billing & Accounting Support
- Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Verify billing information, pricing, and shipping documentation
- Enter billing data into the accounting or ERP system
- Assist with accounts receivable tracking and payment posting
- Communicate with customers regarding billing questions or discrepancies
- Maintain organized billing records and documentation
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous receptionist, administrative, or billing experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with accounting or ERP software is a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Work Environment:
- Office setting within a distribution/warehouse facility
- Regular interaction with office staff, warehouse personnel, drivers, and customers
