Job Opening: Receptionist/Billing Clerk

Location: Our Columbus Indiana Headquarters

Job Type: Full-Time; 100% in Office, Monday-Friday 8 AM – 5 PM 

Tallman Equipment, a growing distribution company, is seeking a reliable and organized Receptionist / Billing Clerk to join our team. This role combines front-desk responsibilities with administrative and billing support to help ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.

What You’ll Do:

Reception & Administrative Duties

  • Greet and assist visitors, drivers, and customers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail
  • Order Office Supplies
  • Maintain a clean and organized front office area
  • Filing
  • Provide general administrative support to office staff and management
  • Other duties as assigned

Billing & Accounting Support

  • Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Verify billing information, pricing, and shipping documentation
  • Enter billing data into the accounting or ERP system
  • Assist with accounts receivable tracking and payment posting
  • Communicate with customers regarding billing questions or discrepancies
  • Maintain organized billing records and documentation

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous receptionist, administrative, or billing experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with accounting or ERP software is a plus
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Location: Columbus, Indiana Headquarters
Job Type: Full-Time; 100% In-house, Monday–Friday 7 AM – 5 PM (50-hour work week)

Tallman Equipment, a growing distribution company, is seeking a motivated and dependable Cable Assembly Technician to join our production team. This role focuses on building, testing, and preparing cable assemblies to meet precise customer specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.

What You’ll Do:

Cable Assembly & Production

  • Pull, measure, and cut cable to customer-specified lengths
  • Strip cable ends and install ferrules using compression tools
  • Apply labels, shrink tubing, and install clamps on assemblies

Testing & Quality Control

  • Perform continuity and insulation testing on cable assemblies
  • Accurately record test parameters and results
  • Inspect finished assemblies to ensure quality standards are met

Packaging & Support

  • Coil and prepare assemblies for shipping
  • Recondition and recertify used cable assemblies
  • Assist with general production tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic mechanical skills preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • No experience necessary – full on-the-job training provided

Tallman Equipment is seeking a detail-oriented Rubber Lab Technician to support the testing and certification of rubber safety equipment. This role is critical in ensuring products meet safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is organized, focused, and takes pride in accuracy and consistency.

What You’ll Do:

Preparation & Organization

  • Wash and dry PPE rubber goods to prepare for dielectric testing
  • Organize and catalog items by Sales/Service Order
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Testing & Inspection

  • Perform dielectric testing on a variety of rubber products
  • Conduct detailed visual inspections of all items
  • Ink stamp items after successful testing

Documentation & Packaging

  • Accurately document all tested items and results
  • Package completed items for return or shipment
  • Assist with maintaining testing records and workflow tracking

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow processes and maintain accuracy

What You’ll Do:

Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
  • Inspect materials for accuracy, damage, and completeness
  • Communicate discrepancies with purchasing or management

Inventory Management

  • Stock and organize inventory in designated locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within internal systems
